East is a series directed by Dana Marisa Schoenfeld. The project is about a recently engaged, thriving corporate attorney who gets fired on the same day she discovers her fiancé is cheating. She is forced to reexamine her life choices. When she abruptly decides to pursue her childhood dream of becoming an actress, she shocks her overbearing and judgmental Jewish family and is submerged into an unforgiving industry filled with other ambitious dreamers with their own agendas.

The Project has been featured and recognized at numerous film festivals, such as the Montreal Independent Film Festival, Dances With Films, Dublin International Film Festival, and others.

Dana Marisa Schoenfeld, a New York City native, is an award-winning writer, director, and actress. She began her career at the NBC Page Program where she was introduced to the world of television production. Dana was fortunate to work in production on hit shows including “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, the CBS drama, “Now and Again,” and the hit NBC comedy, “ED.” Dana discovered her passion for writing and performing and submitted one of her first screenplays to the Creative Screenwriting Expo. She was delighted to receive a two-year scholarship to Writers Boot Camp in Santa Monica where she began to hone her craft as a screenwriter. Shortly thereafter, Dana was hired to write and develop several screenplays for an independent production company in Los Angeles.
After spending a few years in Los Angeles, Dana moved back to her beloved New York City where she pursued her passion for performing and filmmaking. She joined Wednesday Repertory Company a NYC-based theatre group. While at WEDREPCO, Dana wrote, directed, and starred in a series of one act plays that were well-received. She then began her career as a filmmaker. Dana has written several award-winning screenplays, produced over 15 short films and one-act plays, and written and directed several award-winning projects. Her work has been recognized in film festivals around the world. Dana has a passion for all aspects of filmmaking and is excited to continue to evolve as an artist and an entrepreneur.
