Stealing the Sky


STEALING THE SKY features a diverse ensemble cast and combines drama with dry humor, presenting a collection of interconnected stories against the backdrop of Toronto's evolving urban landscape. Here, historic buildings are demolished, storefronts are altered by development notices, and the skyline is dominated by cranes and unfinished towers. The Canadian narrative feature film is an award-winning film of the competition of Montreal Independent Film Festival and is directed by the award-winning Megan Follows.



The film explores universal themes such as survival, alienation, and community, examining the impact of urban expansion on individuals. It offers a comedic take on identity and existentialism in the face of rapid urban change. Through its interwoven narratives, the film delves into the complexities of the human experience, showcasing imperfections, vulnerabilities, and unexpected moments of grace.



Megan Follows, an award-winning director, has been celebrated globally for her role in the Emmy-winning Anne of Green Gables. She has enjoyed a diverse career in television, film, and theater, earning multiple Best Actress nominations for her outstanding performances.

Megan's directorial work includes episodes of various acclaimed series, such as Reign, Heartland, Murdoch Mysteries, and more. Her directing has been praised for its visual and emotional impact. In addition to her television work, Megan has directed theater productions, including The Carousel and The Penelopiad, receiving acclaim for her ability to blend emotion and clarity on stage. Recently, Megan directed a nine-part series for Audible, featuring Sandra Oh, Catherine O'Hara, and Victor Garber.
